After playing host to the European soccer championships, Ukrainian capital city of Kiev is almost ready for another grand event - Madonna live in concert.
The country's biggest stadium was transformed into the singer's stage over the course of five days and the pricey tickets, ranging between 60 and 160 U.S. dollars, sold like hot cakes.
Devoted fans agree it's a once in a lifetime happening.
SOUNDBITE: Madonna's Fan, Irina, saying (Russian)
"Celebrities of that level don't come to Ukraine often so I wouldn't want to miss it. This is a world famous show, a mega-popular performer and a very high-profile celebrity."
Kiev is the latest stop for the 53-year-old star, on a global tour promoting her latest album MDNA.
The Material Girl's latest concert in Warsaw stirred controversy as it coincided with a Polish holiday remembering victims of World War II.
Although her Kiev concert on August 4th will be on a regular Saturday, for Ukanian fans it will be a night that they'll never forget.
