Stopping traffic in Hanoi, model Dam Hong Loan getting her daily dose of leafy greens. The lettuce dress was created by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA, to urge Vietnamese carnivores to go vegetarian. PETA vice president Jason Baker says it's a fun way to convey a serious message. SOUNDBITE: Jason Baker, Vice President of PETA, saying (English): "Hopefully people will walk by or drive by and will start to think about why they should go vegetarian. And that is because it is good for your health, it's good for the planet and most of all, it's good for animals." A college student, still in salad days, Loan eats plenty of meat. SOUNDBITE: Dam Hong Loan, model and fourth-year student majoring in finances, saying (Vietnamese): "It has always been in Vietnamese culture that people are only vegetarian if they practice Buddhism. But nowadays, some, myself for example, have been consuming a lot of meat. That's why moving to vegetarian is very difficult. I am slowly moving towards having a vegetarian diet once a week." But in a meat-loving culture, she's one of very few.
