The heat is on at the stage of the World Tango Championships in Buenos Aires. The couples are performing the salon style tango, characterized by slow, smoothly executed moves. Among the international mix of dancers is Jose Cardoso who is from Mexico. SOUNDBITE: Jose Cardoso, Mexican tango dancer saying (Spanish) "You meet people from Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and people from all over the world who are fascinated by tango. We all have this in common. We like it, it's a pleasure and this is what we come for." The sultry dance is said to have originated in the brothels of the city - making it the perfect host for the competition, says this competitor from Japan. SOUNDBITE: Natsuko Mai, Japanese Tango Dancer, saying (Japanese) "People breathe tango here. Breathing tango is dancing in Buenos Aires with all these people. It is all so beautiful because I love tango and I love Buenos Aires." Dancers have a few days left to show off their fancy footwork - as the champions will be crowned on August 27th.
