Brad Pitt co-produced the new movie he also stars in. Killing Them Softly is set in an un-named U.S. city which has borne the brunt of the financial collapse and petty criminals and mobsters alike are struggling to get by. And, said Pitt, at a screening of the movie in London, that sort of social commentary makes for a more powerful film. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BRAD PITT, SPEAKING ABOUT THE SOCIAL COMMENTARY OF THE FILMS HE PRODUCES, SAYING: "Whether it's on the surface or it's underneath, I think it's got to say something about... I don't know if any film ever really lands unless it says something about who we are or where we are right now, if it doesn't scratch something that we're questioning underneath. The movie is based on a 1974 novel by George V Higgins but director, Andrew Dominik used the eve of the 2008 Presidential election as the backdrop for his film. Pitt has previously worked with Australian, Dominik, on the Assassination of Jesse James. He said he has no intention of following in the footsteps of some of his friends, or his fiancee Angelina Jolie, in turning his hand to directing. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BRAD PITT, ACTOR, SAYING: "Not going to happen. No, not going to happen - too big of a job. I'd rather be a dad." This year, the world has been anticipating Pitt's wedding to Jolie, with whom he has six children. But he was keeping tight lipped about when it would be. He also quashed rumours that fellow actor, George Clooney, would be his best man. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BRAD PITT, ON WHETHER GEORGE CLOONEY WOULD MAKE A GOOD BEST MAN, SAYING: "Well, he doesn't believe in institutions so he can get people to their seats or something." Pitt and Jolie have spent time with their family in the UK this year. Jolie has been shooting upcoming movie "Maleficent", while Pitt has worked on zombie movie "World War Z".
