(ROUGH CUT ONLY - NO REPORTER NARRATION) Typhoon Sanba hit Japan's southern, Okinawa islands on Sunday (September 16) forcing the cancellation of flights, closing roads and stopping ferry services. With maximum wind speeds near the eye of the typhoon as high as 45 metres (148 feet) per second, state broadcaster NHK said about 300 flights out of Okinawa had been cancelled. About 460 people voluntarily evacuated to public schools and more than 59,000 households are without power, according to the local media. South Korea and parts of southern China are bracing for the storm.
