One by one, Vincent van Gogh's most famous paintings are carefully removed from the walls of the Amsterdam museum named after him. The works will spend the next seven months off site while The Netherlands' most visited gallery is closed for renovations. The building's structure requires upgrades in line with national fire regulations. And the collection of 75 paintings will be on display in The Hermitage until May, 2013, when the Van Gogh Museum will open its doors again.
