The highly-anticipated new book from Harry Potter author JK Rowling hit shelves early Thursday.
'The Casual Vacancy, Rowling's first foray into adult fiction, looks destined for the top of best-seller lists.
Store Manager of a central London branch of Foyles bookstore, Gary Powell, is confident Rowling's loyal wizard fanbase will read the new book.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) FOYLES AT ST PANCRAS STORE MANAGER GARY POWELL, SAYING:
"A lot of adults read her books anyway so I think they're going to identify with her style of writing and they'll enjoy the way she writes and what she writes, and so I think the fact that it's an adult novel opposed to a children's novel shouldn't make that much of a difference."
Although there were not many fans out to buy copies Thursday morning, over a million orders have already been placed for the book.
Rowling is no stranger to huge sales.
Fans camped out in front of bookstores globally to get their hands on a copy of the final book in her Harry Potter series - 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.'
It became the fastest-selling book in history.
