This is what remains of the historic market in Aleppo's Old City. Once a World Heritage Site, and a major tourist attraction, it was ravaged by flames over the weekend.
Amateur video, which Reuters cannot independently verify, showed charred alleyways. Rebels reportedly control the majority of the medieval part of the city, but are struggling to hold their positions under enemy fire.
