This pumpkin on display at a pumpkin fair in Topsfield, Massachusetts is making history. Weighing in at 2009 pounds or 911 kilograms, it's the largest fruit ever grown in the world. The giant gourd is a labor of love of a Rhode Island man Ron Wallace, who won 5,500 US dollars after his "Freak II" squashed the competition. He won an additional 10,000 dollars for breaking the one-ton mark, which is 2000 pounds in the United States. While no fairy godmother was involved in making this pumpkin, it's almost miraculous that this giant reached its enormous proportioned from just a tiny seed in just one growing season.
