Turkey's military launched a retaliatory strike after Syria fired a mortar bomb into countryside in Turkey's southern province of Hatay, a Turkish state official told Reuters.

It is the sixth consecutive day of Turkish retaliation against bombardment from the Syrian side of the border.
This comes as the Turkish President says that the "worst-case scenarios" are taking place in Syria and he urged the international community to act.
He also says Turkey will continue to do everything necessary to protect its borders.
Turkey's armed forces have bolstered their presence along its border with Syria in recent days.
