Outcry in Cairo as people anger erupts over the release of former regime officials charged with killing protesters. United in anger at the court ruling, Islamist backers of President Mohamed Mursi joined opponents who had turned up to criticize the President's performance in office since his June election. Later the two groups threw stones at each other. Mursi tried to offer assurances that he would hold people accountable for their actions. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) EGYPTIAN PRESIDENT, MOHAMED MURSI, SAYING: "There exists a strong will to hold all those who wronged this country accountable, and also all those who benefited from the blood of the people and who acted against the law. We will not let anyone involved in corruption live freely amongst us without punishment." By nightfall clashes in Cairo intensified. Two buses which had been used by the Mursi supporters to take people to the protest, were set on fire. The police did not intervene. They have often been the target of protesters' anger in the past due to their brutality against demonstrators in last year's revolt.
