The end of the tour for Lance Armstrong.
Now the head of the Tour de France is calling for the list of winners of the race to be left blank for the years 1999-2005, the years Armstring won it.
2. (SOUNDBITE) (French) TOUR DE FRANCE DIRECTOR CHRISTIAN PRUDHOMME SAYING:
"The report by the American anti-doping agency was damning. The decision taken today by the International Cycling Union is for us anything but a surprise. It is completely logical. We were expecting it. Lance Armstrong is no longer the winner of the Tour de France from 1999-2005 for us. And as I said 10 days ago, we want the list of prizewinners of the Tour de France from those years to be left blank."
On the streets of Paris little surprise.
(SOUNDBITE) (French) EDOUARD RYST, PASSERBY, SAYING:
"It's another piece of news that stains the image we have of cycling. But it was to be expected. This is a decision that makes it official -- it is something that should have been done a long time ago. I think it's a good thing, unfortunately."
The International Cyclying Union ratified findings from the U.S. Anti-Doping agency -- that reported Armstrong took part in an eleborate doping scheme on his way to his unrivalled success on the Tour.
Armstrong has stayed silent since the report was released last week.
