Sandy whips through the Caribbean

Oct. 25 - Hurricane Sandy left downed power lines in Jamaica as she prepared to take aim at the central Bahama with maximum sustained winds of 105 miles per hour. Deborah Gembara reports.

In the Bahamas, they're boarding up windows, and stocking up on grocceries and other supplies ahead of the hurricane. Sandy is expected to hit the central Bahamas with winds of up to 105 miles per hour. The hurricane is gaining strength after tearing through Jamaica knocking down powerlines and killing three people. SOUNDBITE: Woman from the power company saying: " " Teams were hard at work repairing the damage and police officers lined the road to keep traffic moving on the road leading into Kingston. Sandy is headed for the U.S. and is expecting to drop below hurricane strength before making landfall next week on the East Coast.
