Next week China's communist party will hand over power to a new leader... but little is known about Xi Jingping. The son of a former reformist, Xi is no stranger to political life. But Beijing's tight control of information leave everyday Chinese with virtually no knowledge of Xi's opinions or style of rule. (SOUNDBITE)(Mandarin) LAWYER ZHAI JING SAYING: "I don't know much about him, but I think he should be the next leader. I think it will be better than before. Because now each generation is better than the last" 59-year old Xi studied chemical engineering at a university in Beijing, and earned a doctorate in Marxist theory. In 2010, the Communist Party promoted him to vice chairman of the Party's Standing Committee, which oversees the country's military. Many see Xi as a compromise between influential members of China's current and past leadership, and as such he's not expected to make any dramatic changes early on. One thing Xi and other senior officials do agree upon-- the Communist Party will continue in China.
