Wreck-It Ralph is today's power player for tearing up the history books at Disney.
The video game character is behind the studio's highest-grossing debut for an animated picture - taking in just over $49 million at the box office this weekend, according to early estimates.
Wreck-It Ralph cost $165 million to make.
By the way, Wreck-It Ralph pounded the competition, Academy award winner Denzel Washington and "Flight" by a margin of nearly two-to-one in dollar terms.
Tired of destroying things and facing a mid-life crisis, Ralph tries to find a new career and his place in the world.
His re-discovery sort of landed at the right time, according to studio executives, who said his debut benefited from school closings on the East Coast due to Super Storm Sandy...
Making Wreck-It Ralph a welcomed distraction for storm-weary parents.
