Some of rock n roll's greatest acts were honoured in London at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour awards gala.
Texas blues-rockers ZZ Top received the night's most prestigious prize as the trio was given the 'Living Legends' award.
Lead guitarist, Billy Gibbons.

"We're glad to be amongst the living and I conversed with my two partners who elected me as the emissary to make this rather lofty reception and presentation."
Someone who couldn't stop reminiscing over the wild days was Motörhead frontman Lemmy.

"Naked women is quite exciting still although I am past that a bit now. I just like, I like to be alive and working you know."
Lynyrd Skynyrd picked up the Comeback Award and was ready to make the night memorable.
SOUNDBITE: Rickey Medlocke, Lynyrd Skynyrd, saying (English):
"We are, we hope that somebody calls the police or the fire department. We're fixing to blow the roof off this place."
But the evening wasn't just about celebrating rock legends.
U.S. group Rival Sons won the Breakthrough of the Year Award, and drummer Mike Miley said it was special to share the limelight with icons.

"It's definitely an honor of course to be here, surrounded by all these awesome guys that we've all grown up loving, so."
Now in its eighth year The Classic Rock Roll Of Honour winners were chosen by a public vote.
