The daily digit today is $341 million. This is how much the newest "Twilight" movie rung up in ticket sales around the world over the weekend. "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" earned an estimated $141 million in the United States and Canada. The total, which includes sales from late night Thursday through Sunday, ranked it as the eight biggest domestic film debut of all time. The other $200 million came from theaters in 61 countries, according to distributor Summit Entertainment. It cost $120 million to produce. "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" is the fifth and the final film of the vampire saga. As a franchise, "Twilight" has been quite successful, even with its own brand of fans known as "Twi-hards". That fan base, mostly teenage girls, has helped the five-film series pull in $2.5 billion over a four-year run. That success lifted Summit Entertainment, once a tiny studio, into Hollywood's big leagues, catching the attention of Lions Gate Entertainment, another independent film company, which bought Summit for $412 in January.
