Song-writing legend Carole King is honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
King has seen 400 of her compositions recorded by more than a thousand artists, resulting in 100 hit singles.
SOUNDBITE: Carole King, musician, saying (English):
"I'm 70 years old and here I am, I'm getting a star. It's remarkable to me. So much of my life I've just sort of done what I do and not thinking of ambition or I want to be famous or whatever."
One time producer, Lou Adler, was also present, as well as actress and musical star Kristin Chenoweth, who counts King as an idol.
SOUNDBITE: Kristin Chenoweth, actress and musical star, saying (English):
"You can call out our names and you know, wherever we are, we will come running to see you. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall or even on a rainy day in L.A., all you have to do is call and we, all of us, will be there. We love you."
King has lived on an Idaho ranch since the early 1980s and is actively involved with environmental organizations in support of forest wilderness preservation.
