Dec. 11 - A shot to the head kills a man who was walking on a sidewalk during daylight hours in Midtown Manhattan, just blocks from New York's Central Park. Sarah Charlton reports.

The scene of a fatal shooting in New York, where a man was gunned down in broad daylight on Monday (December 10).
The 31-year-old was shot in the back of the head at close range at this junction in Midtown Manhattan, close to Central Park.
The gunman fled the scene in a gray vehicle.
The incident shocked onlookers at the area which is popular with tourists.

"We've just, we feel safe. We never think that anything like this can happen. We walk around all hours of the day and night and we just cannot believe something like this can happen. I mean, we're shocked."
SOUNDBITE: JOHN SMITH, TOURIST FROM WASHINGTON, D.C., SAYING (English):
"Yeah I just saw it on my Twitter account. That's crazy. Right in the heart of Manhattan."
Police say the victim's identification showed he was from Los Angeles.
An investigation is underway to determine a motive and locate the shooter.
