(ROUGH CUT ONLY - NO REPORTER NARRATION) A state of emergency has been declared in the South Pacific nation of Samoa after it was struck by Cyclone Evan. According to Television New Zealand, most of the damage has been caused by fallen trees, while electricity cables have fallen, and some homes have lost roofs. There are no official reports as to whether there have been any injuries or deaths. Television New Zealand said most roads in and out of the capital, Apia, were blocked due to flooding, and many areas were being evacuated. Flights to Apia were cancelled during the storm, but Air New Zealand said it would put on extra flights when conditions improved.
