Indian sitarist and composer Ravi Shankar died on Tuesday (December 11) in a San Diego hospital. He was 92 years old. The three-time Grammy winner was known for helping to introduce the sitar to the Western World through his collaborations with The Beatles in the late 1960s. Shankar had been in fragile health for the past several years, suffering from upper respiratory and heart issues. Lindsay Lohan faces the prospect of being sent back to jail after a judge in Los Angeles revoked her probation on Wednesday (December 12) in light of new charges over a June traffic accident. Lohan, who was not present at the hearing, is on probation for a 2011 jewelry theft, and has been in and out of rehab and jail since a 2007 arrest for drunk driving and cocaine possession. Lohan will be arraigned on January 15 on charges of reckless driving and lying to police when she claimed she was not behind the wheel of a car that smashed into a truck in June in the California beach city of Santa Monica. Hollywood's actors cast their net wide nominating performers from big awards contenders "Lincoln" and musical "Les Miserables" for Screen Actors Guild honors while also singling out the likes of Denzel Washington and Javier Bardem. The awards from the Screen Actors Guild are among the most-watched honors during Hollywood film awards season leading up to the Academy Awards because actors make up the largest voting group when the Oscars come around in February. Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen hit the red carpet for the premiere of comedy film "The Guilt Trip." The story is about a son who takes his mom on a cross country trip. Rogen said that the multi Oscar, Emmy, Grammy and Tony award-winning Streisand was not much different than his mom. "The Guilt Trip" hits U.S. theaters on Christmas Day. Pop star Britney Spears edged past Taylor Swift to claim the title of top-earning woman in music after bringing in an estimated 58 million dollars (USD)from her album, endorsements and a perfume in the past year, according to Forbes. Country-pop singer Swift was a close second with an estimated 57 million paycheck.
