Michigan is blanketed with snow on Friday after the first major storm of the winter hammered the Midwest. Snow, high winds and slick roads made roads unsafe for some morning commuters. Work crews tried to clear the snow before dawn, but some vehicles still got stranded. The storm has caused airlines to cancel flights across the Midwest and has upset holiday travel plans for millions of Americans.
