More than a hundred pet felines took to the catwalk on Saturday (December 22) to compete in an international cat pageant.
About 100 different breeds, some brought from abroad, took part in the competition organized by the New Israeli Cat Alliance. The organizer of the show said the judges examined each breed according to its external traits.
Cats of all shapes and sizes were paraded on stage, competing for prizes in different categories. Among the competitions held in the event was the choosing the King and Queen of the cats, who will represent Israel in international competitions.
Dozens of cat admirers were at the exhibition
One of the rare breeds included the Peterbald, a Russian hairless cat that is the youngest breed in the world, with the first born in 1994 from the mating of a Don Sphynx and an Oriental Shorthair.
Judges from France, Israel and Britain examined the cats and awarded them titles 'King and Queen' of those that were worthy.
The event has become a tradition over the past few years. The New Israeli Cat Alliance is one of the 40 member countries of the international cat federation.
