Like giant bubbles on the water about 20,000 plastic balls float on the Singapore River.
They're 'wishing spheres' on which people write what they're grateful for and their hopes for 2013.
Organizers say the event aims to connect people through a collective expression of their wishes for the year ahead.
The spheres will be illuminated in different colors on New Year's Eve and will be accompanied by a fireworks display.
