A Pakistani paramilitary soldier is in critical condition after surviving a kidnap and execution by Pakistani Taliban militants.
A government official said the militants executed 21 paramilitary force soldiers who were captured in attacks on their posts last week.
The men were were tied up, blindfolded and lined up before being shot one-by-one, said a senior administration official.
The bodies of those who were killed have been found.
The victims were from a paramilitary force recruited from members of ethnic Pashtun tribes in northwestern Pakistan.
