ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION Thousands flocked to the River Thames in London to witness the New Year's fireworks. As 2012 gave way to 2013 Mayor Boris Johnson said it was an amazing end to an incredible year. In the German city of Berlin more than a million revellers gathered to see in the New Year with a bang. Six thousands rockets and other fireworks lit up the night sky for 11 minutes over the landmark Brandenburg Gate. In Paris locals and tourists cracked open bottles of bubbly on the banks of the River Seine, undeterred by relentless rain in the French capital. The iconic Eiffel Tower lit up on the stroke of midnight to welcome in the New Year. Many couples seized the romantic atmosphere of the occasion to share a kiss as they prepared to face what the New Year may bring.
