Ethnic Chinese in Malaysia geared up for final preparations just few days ahead of Lunar New Year celebrations.
This year, ethnic Chinese around the world will usher in the Year of the Snake on February 10.
Malaysian Feng Shui master Wong Jian Min said, in the Year of the Water Snake countries in the West are expected to experience some turbulence in politics, while Asian countries will deal with further natural disasters.
In Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur, shoppers thronged supermarkets to stock up on essential festive goods such as mandarin oranges, drinks and food.
Lunar New Year is celebrated by nearly 25 percent of Malaysia's 28 million population.
