Reuters is unable to independently verify the content of this video... but opposition activists say President Bashar al-Assad's forces fought back rebel fighting in the Syrian capital on Friday. Opposition activits said they are fighting Assad's forces in a struggle to break the stalemate in the city of two million people. Artillery and air strikes have stopped opposition fighters to the east from advancing. Assad has been battling to crush a 22-month-long revolt.. that has left 60-thousand people dead. While he's lost control of large parts of his country, his forces, backed up by air power, have kept rebels away from the center of Damascus.
