South African 'Blade Runner' Oscar Pistorius appeared in court on Friday (February 15) accused of shooting dead his girlfriend at his home on Thursday (February 14).
Prosecutors told the Pretoria court they would argue the shooting of 30-year-old model Reeva Steenkamp in the early hours of Thursday (February 14) was pre-meditated.
Pistorius is a double amputee who became one of the biggest names in world athletics.
The hearing was adjourned until February 19 and Pistorius will remain in custody.
When the court session ended a member of the prosecution team, Medupe Simasiku, spoke to media outside.
"The case has been postponed to Tuesday to give the accused (a chance) to meet with the defence so that they can prepare for their case on Tuesday for bail application," he said.
Following his appearance, Pistorius' agent issued statement which said he disputes the murder charge "in the strongest possible terms".
