A crowd celebrates the birthday of the late North Korean leader, Kim Jong-il, on Friday. The deceased leader's son, Kim Jong-un, is seen on state television, handing out awards to those who have done something extraordinary for the government. These "Kim Jong-il watches"--given to soldiers, officials and scientists--bear the name of the former leader. South Koreans were not feeling as joyful, as they sent 10 large balloons with anti-Pyongyang leaflets towards North Korea, Saturday. Some 30 protesters launched these balloons carrying 200,000 leaflets, 1,000 one dollar U.S. bills and 300 DVDs. This protester says they condemn their northern neighbour's third nuclear test which he says is harming world peace. North Korea conducted its third nuclear test on Tuesday, drawing global criticism and a warning from the US. The impoverished country has told China that it is prepared to stage one or even two more nuclear tests this year, hoping to force diplomatic talks with the U.S. It is banned under U.N. sanctions from developing missile or nuclear technology after its 2006 and 2009 nuclear tests.
