A rocket, believed to be fired from Gaza, explodes in southern Israel. It's the first such attack by militants since a truce ended fighting in November. No one was hurt in the blast and there are no immediate claims of responsibility. The attack comes as protests continue in the West Bank over Palestinians detained by Israelis. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is calling on Israel to ease tensions. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) PALESTINIAN PRESIDENT MAHMOUD ABBAS, SAYING: "They need to stop all these actions, so that things calm down. We don't want to escalate things, we don't want tension, we don't want escalation -- we want to achieve a peaceful solution built on the foundations of international legitimacy." The disputed death of a Palestinain prisoner, who was buried Monday, has stoked tensions ahead of a planned visit to Israel next month by U.S. President Barack Obama.
