One day after the Syrian Foreign Minister offered to talk with rebels, the fighting goes on. Video posted online Monday and Tuesday purports to show heavy shelling in Damascus and around Syria's second city, Aleppo. Reuters cannot independently verify the footage. In one video a man can be heard saying a factory in Aleppo province was burning after what he describes as "massive canon and mortar shelling". Other video purports to show a large night time explosion in Damascus following continuous bombardment, in an area where government tanks were supposed to be parking. The latest fighting comes as U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov in Berlin Tuesday, in hopes of finding common ground to end the crisis in Syria. They may be in a race against time. On Tuesday, Human Rights Watch said the Syrian military has stepped up its ballistic missile strikes on rebel-held areas. Its assaults included attacks last week that reportedly killed more than 141 people -- including 71 children.
