The Daily Digit today is 198,000, that's how many non-farm jobs U.S. private employers added in February, according to the newest ADP report. The better-than-expected number bolsters hopes that hiring across the economy is improving, despite worries about government belt-tightening. In February, hiring was spread evenly across small, medium and large businesses. In January, it was all about small firms. But that's not the end of the good news. January's private payrolls figure was revised up to an increase of 215,000 from the previously reported 192,000. The ADP National Employment Report is based on payroll data that represent about 24 million employees from all 19 of the major private sectors. It is jointly developed with Moody's Analytics. The 198,000 new private sector jobs added in February - may bode well for the government's more comprehensive labor market report, which includes both public and private sector employment. That data are released on Friday.
