As chosen successor to the late leader, Maduro now leads an interim government before fresh elections can be held. He's called on officials to hold the vote immediately. While supporters welcomed his appointment, some opposition members boycotted the ceremony. Opponents accuse the government of using Chavez's death for political gain.
