The attack along the Euphrates River came on a weekend that saw heavy fighting throughout Syria. There were reports of heavy shelling in Homs while locals in Aleppo pulled at least 23 bodies from a nearby river. The cause of death in each case wasn't immediately clear although some reportedly showed serious wounds to the head.
