Supporters of Argentina's Cardinal Bergoglio have been celebrating since he was elected pope on Wednesday (March 13). Pope Francis is a surprise choice to lead Roman Catholics, and the first non-European pontiff in over 1,000 years. One cardinal says the appointment will send shockwaves through Latin America. New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan had been mentioned as a potential pope among a host of other candidates. After taking part in the Vatican conclave, he says Pope Francis will invigorate Latin America. SOUNDBITE: (English) AMERICAN CARDINAL TIMOTHY DOLAN SAYING: "I think most cardinals just want to choose the right man, you know, you want a man of God, a man of good pastor of governance, you want a man with a sense of the Church universally, you want a good communicator and he fills those bills. Where he comes from is gravy. And we have a lot of good gravy with a man coming out of Latin America. You talk about a booster shock to the Church in the Americas, this is going to be a real blessing." Pope Francis will be officially inaugurated on Tuesday (March 19).
