Wallenda to traverse Grand Canyon, without a harness

March 19 - High-wire stuntman Nik Wallenda announces he will tightrope walk across a section of the Grand Canyon. Sharon Reich reports.

He calls himself the "King of the High Wire."
Now, Nik Wallenda plans to cross the Grand Canyon on a tightrope - 1,500 feet or 457 meters in the air - without using a safety harness.
And since no good stunt should go unnoticed - the 34-year-old's walk over the remote section of the Grand Canyon will be televised live on the Discovery channel on June 23rd.
Last June, Wallenda became the first person to walk over the brink of Niagara Falls on a high wire.
This latest attempt is a homage to his great-grandfather, Karl Wallenda, who died after falling off a tightrope in Puerto Rico in 1978.
