Gina Lollobrigida puts her good fortune to good use.
The Italian actress, who is considered one of the leading sex symbols of the 1950s and 60s, is selling some of her diamond jewelry to raise money for stem cell research.
Lollobrigida said she started to collect jewels from Bulgari, always buying them herself and enjoying the purchasing power of her hard work.
The 22 pieces will include a pair of pearl and diamond pendant earrings made in 1964 that are expected to sell for up to $1 million U.S. dollars and a 1954 diamond necklace and bracelet combination worth up to $500,000 dollars.
The auction will be held in Geneva on May 14th.
