Former South African President Nelson Mandela.
President Jacob Zuma's office says the Nobel Prize laureate continues to respond to treatment in hospital for a recurrence of pneumonia.
On Sunday, supporters in Johannesburg wished the 94-year-old anti-apartheid leader a speedy recovery.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) LOCAL RESIDENT, PETER SMITH, SAYING:
"He is spending a lot of time in hospital but not surprising he is not exactly a youngster anymore, but I mean he's got excellent people looking after him. I am sure he is going to do well."
(SOUNDBITE) (English) LOCAL RESIDENT, MFUNDO MAFANAEO, SAYING:
"I wish that God can bless us with many Madibas throughout the years."
The Presidency said doctors have drained excess fluid from his lungs to tackle the infection.
