Video shows Syrian boy rescued from rubble

April 2 - Amateur video posted Tuesday purports to show a boy rescued from rubble in Damascus, one day after a monitoring group announced that the fighting in Syria claimed the lives on nearly 300 children during March alone. Mana Rabiee reports.

March was reportedly the bloodiest month yet in Syria's two year-long conflict. So this apparent rescue of a boy trapped alive in rubble muse seem like a miracle to his worried family. Reuters cannot verify the video. But the opposition website that posted it Tuesday says it was taken inside a badly damaged home in the al-Hajar al-Asswad district of the capitol Damascus. Similar video posted Monday and Tuesday purport to show the aftermath of indiscriminate shelling in another area of the capitol The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced on Monday more than 6,000 people were killed in Syria's fighting during March. As in previous months, it said, a third of those were civilians -- and included nearly 300 children.
