U.S. President Barack Obama continues to press for new gun laws in a speech in Colorado Wednesday. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SAYING: "It's now been just over 100 days since the murder of 20 innocent children and six brave educators in Newtown, Connecticut shocked this country into doing something to protect our kids. Gun legislation has stalled on Capitol Hill. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SAYING: "And every day we wait to do something about it, even more are stolen from our lives by a bullet from a gun." Analysts say the best chance of success for gun-control advocates is that Congress will approve universal background checks for gun buyers and tougher penalties for gun trafficking. Less likely to pass are bans on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips, two of the main proposals to emerge from Vice President Joe Biden's gun violence task force, formed by Obama after the Newtown shootings
