Apr 18 - The day's top showbiz news and headlines including Time Magazine names their '100 most influential people,' ''Star Wars'' is set to become a yearly treat, and the Cannes Film Festival previews this year's line-up. Bob Mezan reports.

Jennifer Lawrence has been named one of Time Magazine's 100 most influential people. The Oscar-winning actress made the list, which is celebrating its 10th annual year. Others from Hollywood who made the cut include Jay-Z and Beyonce, Christina Aguliera, and Justin Timberlake.
"Star Wars" fans are in for a treat. Disney has announced that the studio is making the film franchise an annual summer treat, with new films slated to come out every summer starting in 2015. That first film, "Star Wars Episode VII," will be directed by J.J. Abrams and rumors have been circling that some original cast members, like Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, are in talks to come back.
The Cannes Film Festival has announced a stellar line-up. Organizers of the fest met in Paris to announce an advanced preview - this year's festival will include films from the Coen brothers, Seven Soderbergh, and open with the film "The Bling Ring" by director Sofia Coppola. The fest will run from May 15 - 26.
Award season just wrapped, but the focus is already on next year. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced the dates for next year's Golden Globes. The annual awards gala will take place on January 12, 2014, with the nominations being announced on December 12.
