The morning after in Texas. Aerial footage reveals smoldering ruins in the small town of West, Texas -- the day after a massive explosion at a fertilizer plant.
Firefighters were among the missing following the blast that killed as many as 15 people ... injured more than 160 ....and leveled houses.
Emergency dispatch radio captured the shock of first responders
(SOUNDBITE) (English) AUDIO OF MCLENNAN COUNTY SHERIFF AND FIRE DISPATCH OVER STILL PHOTO OF AFTERMATH OF FERTILIZER PLANT EXPLOSION/FLAMES/SMOKE RISING:
EMERGENCY RESPONDER: "We need somebody here now (inaudible), we had a bomb go off in here."
Waco, Texas Police Sgt. Patrick Swanton :
(SOUNDBITE) (English) SGT. PATRICK SWANTON, WACO POLICE DEPT SAYING:
"There is no indication of crime at this point from what I'm made aware of. That is what we will investigate, ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms), the state fire marshall will investigate, the state fire marshall will investigate to determine if in fact there was some type of crime there."
The blast, triggered by a fire of unknown origin, registered as a magnitude 2.1 seismic tremor and was felt as far as 80 miles or 130 kilometers away.
