The video, which could not be independently verified by Reuters comes as towns across the country have been scarred by war.

People make their way up the stairs in search for survivors.
The video comes amid reports that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons. The White House says it is still gathering facts.

More than 70,000 people have died in the more than two year old conflict -- with world powers so far unable to find a way to end the carnage.
