For the best meal in the world in 2013, food lovers should head to Girona in Spain. El Celler de Can Roca, a family restaurant owned by the Roca brothers won the top honor at the annual World's 50 Best Restaurants award show in London. Winning this most sought after accolade in the industry has catapulted restaurants into international stardom - but for Joan Roca, it came as an acknowledgment for their hard work. SOUNDBITE: Winner of the 50 Best Restaurants Award, Joan Roca, saying (Spanish) "I was very excited, not only me but also the brothers, because it's a prize for a lot of years working together even since we were really small. That's why it's important for me." The Roca brothers took over the top spot from Danish restaurant Noma that reigned for the past three years. They were knocked down to the second spot, but Noma's chef Rene Redzepi said the brothers' recognition was long overdue. SOUNDBITE: Previous Winner, Rene Redzepi, Saying (English) These guys are innovators. They should have won this ten years ago in 1998. I know it wasn't there but you know what I mean?" Both Noma and El Celler have three Michelin stars. Rounding up the top five this year is Osteria Francescana in Italy, Mugaritz in Spain and Eleven Madison Park in the United States.
