It might look like an innocent batch of chili sauce - but this fiery blend can have other uses, it seems. Just ask the man who tried to rob this Portuguese take-away restaurant in Australia but was thwarted by quick-thinking staff packing some real heat.
(SOUNDBITE)(English) TAKE-AWAY EMPLOYEE, JOANNA TARNOSKI, SAYING:
"I didn't think twice. I just wanted to protect myself. I threw all the chilli on his face here and then he got crazy because of that."
And what about the would be thief? Well he didn't get any sympathy- not from his father at least.
(SOUNDBITE)(English) FATHER OF MAN WHO ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO ROB THE TAKEAWAY, SAYING:
"Good on them. I would have poured hot fat over his head. You know, any right person can protect themselves if they're getting robbed. He's lucky he only got chilli over his head."
The owners of the Ole say the chilil sauce is a secret recipe, tasty and lethal.
