Supporters of Yusuf Raza Gilani gather at his home on Thursday after the former Pakistani Prime Minister's son was kidnapped by gunmen. Ali Haider Gilani was heading to a small political gathering when he was abducted, just two days before election day. His secretary and guard were shot dead in the incident which took place in Multan, a Gilani family stronghold. A spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban denied they were responsible for the abduction. But in a letter obtained by Reuters on Thursday, the Islamist group's leader outlined plans for attacks - including suicide blasts - in all four of the country's provinces on polling day on Saturday. Since April, the al Qaeda linked Pakistani Taliban have killed more than 100 people in attacks on candidates and rallies in a bid to undermine elections they regard as un-Islamic.
