After a week of searching for a burial spot for Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, he was put to rest in a Muslim cemetery in Virginia. Tsarnaev was killed in a shootout with police. A Massachusetts funeral home had faced unrelenting protests over the past week as it struggled to find a cemetery willing to accept the body. Caroline County Sheriff Tony Lippa was taken by surprise. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CAROLINE COUNTY SHERIFF TONY LIPPA SAYING: "It caught all of us off guard. None of us here, before you, knew anything about this." For Floyd Thomas who heads the Caroline County Broad of Supervisors the controversy is not over. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CHAIRMAN OF THE CAROLINE COUNTY, VIRGINIA, BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, FLOYD THOMAS, SAYING: "This was a horrific act. This was a terrible crime. We don't want the county to be remembered as the resting place of the remains of someone who committed a terrible crime. How do we feel? I think we told you how we feel. If you look in the mirror, I'm sure we feel the same way you feel." Tsarnaev, 26, and his brother Dzhokhar are suspected of setting off bombs at the finish line of the Boston Marathon April 15, killing three people and injuring 264. Dzhokhar is in a prison west of Boston after being charged with crimes that could carry the death penalty if he is convicted.
