Gunfire erupted at a Mother's Day parade in New Orleans. At least nineteen people were shot, ten men, seven women and two children. (SOUNDBITE) (English) NEW ORLEANS POLICE DEPARTMENT (NOPD) SUPERINTENDENT RONAL SERPAS SAYING: "It appears that these two or three people just for a reason unknown to us started shooting at, towards, or in the crowd. It was over in just a couple of seconds, police where everywhere." Officers saw three suspects running away although no arrests have been made so far. (SOUNDBITE) (English) NEW ORLEANS MAYOR MITCH LANDRIEU SAYING: "We are going to find this person but we need the public's help. And this is worth repeating: there were hundreds of people there, and somebody saw something, and somebody saw something that they know. And it's important for them to report that information to us and to Crime Stoppers." In February, as crowds gathered for Mardi Gras celebrations, four people were wounded in a shooting outside a nightclub.
