Russian officials have expelled an American they say they caught red handed trying to recruit a spy in Moscow. Overnight, they detained Ryan Fogle, a third secretary at the U.S. embassy. Officials claim Fogle targeted an intelligence officer and that he had special technical equipment, a disguise and lots of cash on him when he was stopped by security agents. Video released by Russia's Security Service purports to show Fogle in disguise and being brought into custody. THe country's foreign ministry handed Fogle over to the U.S. embassy after detaining him. The announcement comes at an awkward time, just days after U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry's visited Moscow seeking cooperation on Syria, and weeks after it was revealed that Russian authorities warned Washington about Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the man suspected of planning the Boston Marathon bombings.
